Rogation Sunday

Q. In a family group we will be visiting and staying on Lake Garda from 27th May until 1st June this year for my sister's 40th Birthday. The date of her birthday is the 29th May which we have found out is Rogation Sunday in Italy. I am concerned about what we will be able to do on this day? Will everywhere be closed and towns be closed and empty?
Ideally we would like to visit Venice on this day but being that it is Rogation Sunday will all rail, vaporetto service's be running and shops, eateries be open? I would greatly appreciate any information on what it will be like in Italy/Lake Garda on Rogation Sunday.

Many thanks, Emma x

A. Hi Emma. I have been over that this time of year on more than one occassion and I don't remember anything being shut for this weekend. As far as I am aware I believe that shops, attractions, restaurants etc, will all be open as usual. Hope you have a fantastic time, sounds like you will be seeing some great places!

All the best,

Marcus & Sylvia
