Getting to Lake Garda from Ireland

by Genevieve
(Wicklow, Ireland)

Hi there, we are planning on visting Lake Garda in mid September. We would like to go to Lazise and are having difficulty in finding the easiest route. Ryanair does not fly from Dublin to Verona, so we are planning to fly Aer Lingus into Venice. Do you know if we can get a train from Venice to Lazise or close to it? Also, how far away is the train station in Venice to the airport and what train station in Venice do we go to?

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks,

Genevieve & Donal

A. It should be OK to get from Venice to Lazise. It depends which Venice airport you fly into (as there a two, Marco Polo and Treviso). Both airports are a bit away from the train station, but Treviso is the significantly further. However both should provide a shuttle service into Venice and normally the drop you of close the railway station. From here you can catch a train to Peschiera at Lake Garda. Lazise is a short distance north from here. From the train station it is only around 10-15 minutes. You can catch a bus or get a taxi.

Hope that helps,

Have a great trip,

Marcus & Sylvia.
